I am a native Houstonian and have lived in Texas for most of my life.  I graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1989 with a Bachelors of Science Degree.  I obtained my Masters and Doctorate in psychology from the University of Houston.  While at UH, I received specialized training in cognitive behavioral therapy for depressive and anxiety disorders, as well as other psychological and behavioral problems.  I completed my internship at the Michael DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston, where I worked with veterans of all ages.

Following internship, I sought additional training in psychological testing and psychotherapy at the Harris County Psychiatric Center (HCPC), which is part of the University of Texas Health Science Center.  At the end of my postdoctoral fellowship,   I continued at the University of Texas Medical School in the role of Assistant Professor.   I administered assessments and conducted psychotherapy with an inpatient psychiatric population, as well as supervised psychology residents.  For the past six years,

I worked at the Houston Jewish Family Service seeing adults of all ages for individual psychotherapy.

All of my doctoral and postdoctoral training were completed at programs accredited by the American Psychological Association.  I received my Texas psychology licensure in 2001.  I participate in numerous educational activities each year to stay current on research in the field on mental health.  I am an active member of the Texas Psychological Association, the Houston Psychological Association, Resolve and the American Society of Reproductive Medicine.  When not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, exercising, reading, going to sporting events, and traveling.
